2004 was a very wonderful year for the ashram and if anyone has to be thanked besides GOD, it will be you.  Your love and love offerings to us was immeasurable.  No action goes unnoticed in the eyes of GOD, and we pray that you will reap all this and more for your kind help, and contributions.  May Gurudev bless you with health, wealth, peace, and happiness.

 

Some of the services provided to date:

 

v      Serving the sick:

§         On 9 December 2004 the 380sqm Serving the Divine in All Medical Centre was visited by the Area Manager and the District Manager of the KZNPA Health Dept., and they were accompanied by some of the staff from the City Health Clinic.  Other visitors include Pastor Jessie, some of the donors, community leaders and other well wishers   The clinic will serve the poor, senior citizens, and children in the Welbedacht and surrounding areas. 

 

v      Feeding the poor:

§         Approximately 200 loaves of bread are currently used per week for sandwiches to under-privileged school children.  Food is also cooked daily for feeding approximately 800 hungry children and members of the under-privileged community.

 

v      Deepavali and Christmas seva:

§         For the Deepavali week the ashram cooked 20 decks of food(feed +-4000 people), sweets, backed goodies, and other snacks.  This was free distributed to all who attended the ashram from their communities.

 

§         Christmas was not as big as Deepavali but 300 bottles of fresh milk, cakes, food, ice creams, cereal, fruit, sweets and other snacks were distributed to all the guests from the community.

 

v      Clothing the naked:

§         On Deepavali and Christmas new and second hand clothes were distributed in abundance to all.  The ashram currently distributes clothes fortnightly to all need adults and children.

 

v      Educating the illiterate:

§         Our adult literacy classes are growing and its success over the last 15 years has been much appreciated by the learners.  We currently even have some 70-year old black mothers attending our classes.

 

v      Satsangs and spiritual education:

§         Satsangs are held twice weekly. Mantra chanting goes on daily.  Spiritual lessons and Hindu values are also taught from the various scriptures.

 

v      Aims and objectives for 2005:

§         Dancing and music lessons are offered on Saturdays.

§         Hindi and Tamil classes are offered on Thursdays.

§         A youth club is scheduled to be created this year.
